Sarah & Steve's Sun Valley, Idaho Wedding

I had tears in my eyes at least three times before the ceremony even started. Sarah and Steve’s wedding was an emotional roller coaster. And I was just the photographer. The couple had a heartfelt wedding at Sun Valley’s Trail Creek Cabin this summer, and I was honored to photograph it.  It was so much fun getting to know them. Steve has the most gregarious personality and is the kind of guy everyone wants to be around.  He and Sarah are the kind of couple that seem made for each other. The wedding, which was a traditional Jewish one, started with the groom’s Tisch, a rowdy get together where all the men toast the groom.  Steve’s Tisch involved a lot of emotional words, drinking, cheering and singing. Across the creek, the women had their own ceremony, offering words of advice to Sarah on her wedding day.Steve had to wipe his eyes several times as the couple and their families signed the Ketubah (the traditional Jewish marriage certificate). The ceremony itself turned out to be just as impassioned as the Tisch and the Ketubah signing, and by the time we got to the reception, we were having a blast. It was at this point that my assistant (who is in a great relationship with someone who is not Jewish) told me that she had to marry a Jewish man.Now I have photographed plenty of Horahs in my days as a wedding photographer, but I have never, ever, seen any one dance the way that these people danced. They danced with so much energy and passion that I was exhausted just watching them.I left that night feeling so much admiration for Sarah and Steve and their families, who have so much love for one another and did just a wonderful job of showing it!As usual, we had a great team to work with!
